Suzuki is trying to grab a hefty slice of the compact car segment with its best entry to date, the SX4. The oddly shaped hatchback is the most affordable all-wheel-drive vehicle on the market
The Suzuki SX4 is an all-new subcompact car that comes standard with all-wheel drive. The S in this model stands for Sport. This Suzuki reasonably sporty, when equipped with a manual transmission, offering versatility and even looks like a stylish mini-SUV.
The subcompact segment is one of the fastest-growing and most competitive niches today. Suzuki, formerly an also-ran in almost every category, has a strong player in the SX4, whose standard all-wheel drive gives it a decided advantage in the segment.
From the driver’s seat, the SX4’s high roof and sweeping windshield create an expansive view that’s open and inviting. The front seat feels spacious, and there’s plenty of legroom. The back seat, of course, is smaller, although legroom for adults is adequate. Luggage space, as you would expect in a car with a 98.4-inch wheelbase, is small.
The SX4 comes equipped with side curtain airbags for front and rear passengers, as well as seat-mounted side-impact airbags for the driver and front passenger.
