The V50 is a terrific small wagon that’s ever more relevant as gas prices remain high for the foreseeable future. Based on the S40 sedan, it looks great, drives nicely, has standard safety features such as stability control, and has a roomy cargo area. Our favorite model is the base 2.4i.

The Volvo XC70 is a better choice than the average luxury wagon in terms of hauling capacity, especially if you frequently need to carry a lot of loot or large dogs. Drivers with frequent child-duty might favor the Volvo XC70 over the average luxury wagon.

The C70 retractable-hardtop convertible is a milestone in Volvo’s transformation from boxy, sensible, safe vehicles to sleek, sporty, safe vehicles. From bumper to bumper, Volvo nailed the execution with this car, its most competitive model ever and the best, most versatile four-season convertible you can buy. The C70 looks like a coupe to unsuspecting onlookers.

The 2007 XC90 can be equipped to carry five or seven passengers, the latter version featuring a two-person third-row bench that Volvo claims is suitably comfortable for occupants up to five feet six inches tall. The seat is above the rear axle to increase safety in side-impact accidents.
